Communion

I do not make a big deal out of communion. I don't think "I've received Communion. How blessed I am!" or whatever it is you're supposed to think. After receiving Communion, I usually think "That tasted good." I'm sure that's a horrible way to think but that's why I'm posting this to get answers on how I can make Communion a bigger deal. How can I get myself to realize and be thankful for what just happened after Communion?

Thanks.

Ask for the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the mystery of your communion with Jesus. The worthy reception of Holy Communion is the most intimate time that we have with Jesus Christ on this earth. It is the closest we come to Heaven on this side of the veil. Even if you do not feel anything nor have a profound thought it remains a powerful opportunity for transformation if we open up our hearts to it.

In asking this question it shows that the Holy Spirit is working in you to take you into a deeper relationship with Jesus through the Eucharist. There is no complex formula. Simply receive the Eucharist in a state of Grace and consciously open up your heart to the possibilities that Jesus has for you through the Eucharist.

Also find some good writings by the Saints on the Eucharist. They all had profound awareness of the power and strength of it in their lives.
