pippo buono
I'm looking to do some research in relation to a theology of solidarity. (This is not to be confused with a Marxist liberation theology or anything of that sort.) Any suggestions for resources?
Basilisa Marie
Oooh ooh what kind? What for? There are all kinds of Church documents that can give you a good place to start. Quadragesimo Anno and Rerum Novarum (both pre vatican ii), Gaudium et Spes (Vatican document), Caritas in Veritate (encyclical of Benedict XVI). If you're looking for some scholarly commentary on solidarity, here might be somewhere for you to start to find more resources. The website is run by Catholic theologians who love the Church (the two editors are former professors of mine). Solidarity is often linked with the principle of subsidiarity (the idea that issues should be addressed at the lowest level capable of doing so - e.g. your bishop isn't going to decide when to host your parish's church picnic, your church picnic planning committee does), so you might run into some of that. Solidarity itself is a huge component of liberation theology (both the good kinds and the bad kinds), so tread carefully if you're doing scholarly research. But you shouldn't have too much too worry about there. Even some of the weird ones have some good things to say about solidarity, and if something seems odd to you, question it and cross reference it with what other sources you trust have to say about it. But yeah, if you can, I always think it's good to start with Church documents. :)

pippo buono
Not bad. I'll take a look at these. Thank you.
Amppax
Gerhard Muller (CDF) is a fan of liberation theology. http://vaticaninsider.lastampa.it/en/the-vatican/detail/articolo/america-latina-latin-america-papa-el-papa-pope-congregazione-per-la-dottrina-della-fede-congre/
pippo buono
Oooh ooh what kind? What for? I realized I didn't respond to this. The community were I serve in the Andes is extremely impoverished. We want to renew our reflection, both in its theoretical and pragmatic dimensions, concerning our service and solidarity with the poor.
