Mortal Sin Or Not?

Is it considered a mortal sin to:

A) Watch a movie that mentions sex but shows absolutely nothing or

B) Think about sex in a non-lustful way

Just curious! I try to avoid these at all costs possible anyway but I was wondering where the boundaries for mortal sin are with the 6th/9th commandments.

Thanks!

Mortal sin destroys charity in the hearts of men and women by a grave violation of God’s law; it turns us away from God, who is our ultimate end.  Mortal sin pits our relationship with God against our relationship to worldly and human goods.  Mortal sin, by attacking the vital principle within us–that is, charity–necessitates a new initiative of God’s mercy and a conversion of heart which is normally accomplished within the setting of the sacrament of reconciliation (confession).

For sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: the object (or sin in itself) must be grave matter which is committed with full knowledge and with deliberate consent of the will.  Mortal sin requires full knowledge and complete consent.  It presupposes knowledge of the sinful character of the act, of its opposition to God’s law.  It also implies a consent sufficiently deliberate to be a personal choice.

Mortal sin, if not repented and forgiven, causes exclusion from Christ’s kingdom and the eternal death of hell, for our freedom has the power to make choices for ever, with no turning back.  However, although we can judge that an act is in itself a grave sin, we must entrust judgment of persons to the justice and mercy of God (in other words, we should not judge anyone because we don’t know all the facts and circumstances.).

In your case mentioned there is no mortal sin, (not even Venial)
