You Try To Do Something Nice

At minimum, the latest variation on FP's name is good for the environment. After riding in one, I discovered that a Prius is remarkably quiet compared to the engine noise of a normal car. Oh well, no comparison is perfect. ;)

Yes. Nothing is good for the environment like a vehicle powered by highly toxic batteries.

They're a gimmick.

There was a study done not too long ago that showed that BMW drivers were the biggest jerks and Prius drivers tended to have the most infractions (like failing to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks).

They're trying to save the planet by lowering fuel emissions and the population of humans simaltaneously. Efficiency at its finest.

Ah yes, humility through humiliation. This is proof God loves you and your are cool with good stories.

oh, it's proof God loves me?! I just thought that it was one of those "life lessons" that I must be too dumb to learn properly the first time.

 but, my husband is pretty much the nicest guy!

They feel so much zippier to drive around in, though. I love when I get a chance to drive Matt's car. It's weird to be so low but that baby turns on a dime and I can squeeze into ANY parking space. *sigh*

I know what you mean! I love cars that have excellent steering and can get up and go after a light turns green. Even comparing my Honda Civic to my Toyota Corolla, the corolla is 10x zipper and parks much easier (civic is a hybrid though which may account for some of that).

Our van gets up to speed very quickly. That aside, I don't see the need to go from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds. :P

Speaking of "you try to do something nice"

I donated some money to a friend for her mission to Africa. But in the process left my primary purse on the work desk, hence neglecting to take it with me to work the next day.

Not good.

I didn't have time for breakfast, had to borrow a bit of lunch money from a co-worker. Was giving another co-worker a ride to and from work. Dropped the other co-worker off and realized once again I couldn't buy any gas to get home. My other co-worker has had health problems preventing him from doing much work so I didn't have the heart to call him nearby and borrow money from him for gas.

Took a chance driving home and the fuel guage said "low fuel" but I probably had quite a ways before I could get home.

Needless to say I prayed hard, made it home. My husband put some fuel in the tank from the gas can we have. It was still on "low fuel" when I took it in this morning to the station. All this because of my forgetfulness after trying to do something nice.

Good thing someone was watching over me. :)

I was praying that I hadn't accidentally destroyed the entire engine, so I feel your pain. :P

Exactly. My minivan is smooth and I feel very secure driving it, but it's not zippy like my husband's car.
