John Ryan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAxMyTwmu_M This makes a pretty strong case for net-neutrality. I assent with the other side in that it makes perfect sense to customize streams for different consumers, but overall there needs to be some measure of protection against the oligarchic market. Vi Hart is pretty cool. It's a very simple way of explaining things. It dos however ignore the freedom of a company to do better than advertized. The problem we have now is that we have corporations who are horrible, nasty money-grubbing giants and evil to their customers. However, if they weren't then I think we'd all feel differently about "net neutrality" For instance, why should I suffer from physical limitations of cable lines when my fat teenage neighbor wants to play world of warcraft and stream HD movies and upload vidieos in his mom's basment and pay the same I do? If I only use 10 gigs a month and he's using 40,000...regardless of the speed, should we really be paying the same thing? It's not as simple as OMGOSHHH they're going to nuke their competition and maybe even vital websites.
PhuturePriest
Breaking Bad is the worst television show I've ever seen, and that's including Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
superblue
could you imagine the leap backwards in society that would happen if our internet was limited ! we would have to resort to paper, and mailing letters, we would have to learn how to use a pen and pencil !, we would have to go to libraries to get our information and read news papers and listen to the radio for updates in the world. We would have to meet strangers face to face, in person rather than hiding behind a screen on a desk or in our home. Instead of playing the games we like online, we would have to go outside and play and join a sport of some sort. IF the internet is taken over, we will be doomed to the dark ages ! Someone help us !
