Any Pmers Have Experience With Linux Distros?

I am incredibly inept when it comes to computers. I have zero programming experience. I was told by the guy who put linux on my laptop that if I did it myself, I'd probably reduce the computer to a quivering mess of blue screen. Which is why I had him do it.

Now I have a chromebook.

Sorry to be harsh, but computer ineptness is wholly a person's own fault.  I can accept "I don't have time" but not "I can't"  With minamil reading skills and some patience I promise you can.

And, "blue screen" is wholly an invention of Windows, ergo you cannot have it in linux.  Other OS use Black or grey.

Ubuntu is the worst thing I have ever seen. My sister is obsessed with it, but I hate it with a passion.

Is it because you are a few cards short of a deck? :|

Actually, there's a third category you're missing, the "I don't care enough to expend the effort." It's a specialized subset of the "I don't have time." Teaching myself Latin, French, Koine Greek, and research for my degree mean that I'm in the second category, but my general distaste for all things technical puts me in the first.

It's because I like things that actually work effectively.

And so you use windows 0.o ?????

An os, properly designed and managed is best when its pared down to actual user needs.

My computer does everything I need it to do. I don't need a different program to complicate it for me. Ubuntu is very complicated.
