Don't worry flowery, I too am guilty of carrying a heavy backpack. It's a wonder that I'm not walking crooked.

I was in the Army. We had to carry a 70+ lbs. rucksack 11 miles at a time, not to mention the M-16 and all the gear attached to the utility belt. Get over it!

:P

Yup. It's too heavy. Shoot, I never weighed my backpack in college, but it was bordering on like at least 30 or so lbs. I mean, I was a weight lifter, and I could barely curl the darn thing. I thought for sure I'd have sculiosis (sp?) by the time I was through with school.

Hope your load gets lighter.

you really shouldn't carry around that much weight. you don't know what effect it will have on your future health.

I'd be careful. I carried around small children and heavy backpacks when I was in middle/highschool; and I ended up getting scoliosis (sp?) out of it. I'm 22 years old and I stand crooked (it's too painful to stand up straight). My back hurts a lot (especially when the weather changes), and everynow and then I get severe shooting pains up my back, or I'll loose circulation in my hands or whatnot. I slouch and I can't help it, and people think I'm a slacker or whatever based on my posture.

:(

I'd opt for a UHAUL, a wheel-y backpack, or perhaps a wheelbarrow. Is there any way you could break up your load, perhaps? When I have to carry massive loads of books nowadays, I leave half at my workplace (it's in the center of campus - very convienent instead of running across campus all over the place).
If you were really the Queen, you'd hire someone to carry it around for you.

Long live the Queen!

peace...
my days of having peasants, sending disloyalists in excile and having dungeon lockups are over...... *sigh*
