Mary+Immaculate<3
If any of you have done decently with the ACT in the past or are my sad fellow-test-takers, is there any advice you can offer? I'm taking it for the 2nd time next Saturday, but really don't take it for real until June 2016. I've taken many practice tests as well. The best practice score I got was a 25, but by junior year my goal is a 27-28. I'm actually an avid reader and love literature/philosophy, but my reading scores are relatively low. I'm a slow reader, any suggestions for faster reading? Some advice I got was skip to the reading that you are best at first. For me that was Prose, Humanities, Social Study, Science. But I still have a low score. I think one of my problems is that I'm a big-picture thinker and I read into things :| Prayers are greatly appreciated on Saturday the 13th :amen: St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us! Also, my best is English, then math, reading, and science.
truthfinder
I've never done any of the standardized tests (ACT, SAT, GRE), but in highschool we had big, govn't run tests. Are there questions associated with the readings, or essays? If possible, read the questions first, and then read the reading so that you already know what you're looking for. Just be careful to not assume the answer is in only one paragraph. Our govn't tests liked to but one answer in the beginning, and then in the last paragraphs refute the fact they had initially presented, and this was the answer they were looking for.
