Catherine Therese
I know - I'm very blessed to still have both my grandfathers. That doesn't make it any easier to see them suffering! Please pray for them. They are not in danger, but are both having a rough patch. My mum's dad had surgery on one of his eyes today; he is the primary carer of my VERY sickly grandmother, so he won't get to rest and recover for long. (They insist on their independence while they can make it last, but this eye operation is definitely going to slow them down.) My dad's dad is waiting for surgery to remove gallstones. He's in a lot of pain, of course, at the moment. Poor chap had a knee reconstruction less than a year ago and there were complications with his last surgery where something got infected, so he's already seen more than enough of the inside of a hospital this past year... and my grandmother is also starting to struggle with heart and memory and whatnot, so he can't be down and out for long, either! Very grateful for your prayers on their behalf... it would be wonderful if we could be past the worst of their discomfort by this weekend (which is Fathers Day in Australia... not sure about other places in the world).
