I have no idea what that means haha!! I've only watched the Star Trek movies released in 2009 and 2013, hope this makes sense?

The 2009 and 2013 films were 'Reboot' (thus sprak Wikipedia, anyway). I saw the 2009 Star Trek and enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I'm just a First Contact fangirl, really. I'll get my zimmer frame.

Hehe.  First Contact was my favorite until I watched it earlier this year and realized how it felt like an expensive but bland extended episode of the series.  Now I like Wrath of Khan more :p

Yes!! :,( my friends and I saw that in the theater and one of them cried! There are actually two parts of that video that are in Into Darkness. One is the part in the beginning where Spock almost sacrifices himself, the other is where Kirk sacrifices himself. The problem with those movies, as with a lot of American movies, is that there are a lot of near-misses with death. One goes through the emotions of a fictional character dying but then experiences their "resurrection." That's an unrealistic ideal for the real world, but it's probably why movies with happy endings appeal to many people.

Oh I see. Well I personally liked the second reboot, Into Darkness, more that the first. I think the actors were more familiar with their parts and one another than the first one, which made it run better. Also, there were a lot more dark and thought-provoking elements, which made for a more well-rounded movie than the first, in my opinion anyway.

1.  Spock actually comes back in the original third one, though Capt. Kirk beat his record :p

2.  Yeah, I like Into Darkness a lot more too.  I think the first one is kind of boring and littered with plot holes.  Into Darkness has its plot holes, and it's basically a remake of Wrath of Khan, but it's so exciting and fast paced that I can't help but eat it up.

Am I kidding me? Sure, that movie was cool at first, but now it's a nonsensical mess.
