SNJM
Did any of you watch? I just saw the news & am so disgusted that Sarah Silverman would bring marijuana & "show off" her "pipe" on the red carpet. I have never seen her perform but apparently she won something & so obviously she's somewhat of a celebrity. Don't these people have any idea how they influence the youth? Why would NBC allow this to be televised? Rose
Basilisa Marie
Have you seen what's on NBC lately? Or any network? It's all par for the course, unfortunately. Sarah Silverman is a comedian with a dirty sense of humor. It'd be weird if she didn't do something like that. Breaking Bad won a bunch of awards. I just started watching it on Netflix. Colbert also won, which was nice seeing as his show is ending in the next year or so. But mostly it felt like it went to the same people as it does every year (I'm looking at you, Modern Family). DemonSlayer
American awards ceremonies except the Oscars are not on FTA TV anymore, but I'm sure I didn't miss much.
Selah
Wasn't watching. I was being a hipster and watching/listening/falling asleep to Radio Dead Air. You've probably never heard of it. :|

Ice_nine
I'm not offended by that, but I didn't even know the emmy's were on last night.
John Ryan
So ABC censors Kacey Musgraves for singing "Roll up a joint, or don't", but NBC has no problem with this?
CrossCuT
I'm not offended by the weed thing either.
John Ryan
I'm not offended by the weed thing either. I am the left-wing communist and even I think it is offensive to public decency.
CrossCuT
Could you explain your reasons? Is it because weed is the devil or any type or smoking/drinking use in public is indecent?
Selah
Weed is totes the devil. Haven't you seen reefer madness?

John Ryan
Could you explain your reasons? Is it because weed is the devil or any type or smoking/drinking use in public is indecent? Weed offers a vapid sort of happiness without depth. I believe it says a lot about the degeneration of a culture when it begins to glorify and revel in such vapidity. Weed is not the worst thing in the world, and I generally tend to think its criminalization leads to more harm than good in the United States, but its glorification is downright unsettling. Basilisa Marie
Meh, you can say a lot of the same things about weed that you can say for alcohol, and no one's pushing to reinstate prohibition. It's legal in my state. It helps some people cope with pain and migraines.
KnightofChrist
When the idols of Hollywood use to adore the idols of Hollywood at these types of award shows at least they use to keep it classy. Sliverman should have just gone for the full trifecta, a 12 pack of red ribbon, a cig hanging out her mouth, and the pipe.
