Poorly Catechized Convert
Have any of you had experience with the FSSP parish in Seattle? I've thought about trying yi get involved there -- it might be hard though -- and was curious to see if anyone is familiar with it.
Credo in Deum
Yes. The North American Martyrs Parish is a great one. Fr. Gerard Saguto FSSP is excellent and a great confessor. I can't put into words how much I love this parish.

Credo in Deum
Never been to the parish, but I know Fr. Saguto, he's a really great priest. Amen to that. I'm telling you PCC, if you go to Fr. Saguto for instruction and catechism, you will have to change your name to Perfectly Catechized Convert. This priest knows his stuff. Please pray for him. Poorly Catechized Convert
Thanks for the replies. I really hope I can get involved there -- all things considered, it may be difficult. I'd love to meet Fr. Saguto, he sounds great. I'll pray for him. ChristinaTherese
Great place. I'm rarely there, but I do like it. (Do you live in Seattle, or somewhere outside the city?)

veritasluxmea
I went to that parish for a while. I think it would be a nice fit for a single adult or young/elderly couple.

veritasluxmea
What makes you say that? The only thing I can criticize about it- just to be fair- is that not a ton of stuff goes on outside of mass. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, and that's true for many parishes. There are morning lectures before mass, at least last time I was there, and a sacraments program. Many parishes keep it to that and that's fine, you may even like it that way. Keep in mind that they are still renting out a church so that's probably why, (or at least they were the last time I was there). There are a fair number of young Catholic couples and singles, a good mix of "large traditional Catholic"-type families, and a lot of older people. But hey, pretty much every parish is like that. So if you can find a good niche there and meet new friends it'd be a good fit for you- just like any other parish. :) Also, the lectures and homilies are amazing- better content than the Dominican parish I went to! I learned more there in a year then five years at the Dominican parish.

I didn't know so many people were in that area. :hehe2:

Yes, unfortunately because we are currently renting our location we do not always have the chance to do as many parish events as we would like. This is because we have to get approval from the parish church we are currently staying at. Plus our plans will sometimes conflict with theirs, so when this happens we have to give the right away to them. We will usually have pot-lucks every other Sunday and we have an annual parish pick-nick coming up early September. We also have Oktoberfest coming which is always a lot of fun as well. I'm sure when we get our own church we will ramp up the number of parish events. If you are active in with the young adults then you will have stuff to do. Also if you decide to go to our parish there is an unofficial parish e-mail bulletin that is sent out to everyone that signs up for it. It gives great information on the goings on, and if there are any sudden changes to a Mass time or event, everyone gets notified via this e-mail chain. Ash Wednesday
P.S. there's an awesome little parish church in Tacoma, a little Polish church, sts. Peter and Paul, if you are in the area and need a good sprinkle of some wooden Polish decoration and Divine Mercy love.

Kenneth baker I believe setup a Latin Mass down there on Sundays.
