CrossCuT
Woops! My typo! ALS! :)
PhuturePriest
Don't participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge. The donations go to a company that uses embryonic stem cell research.
CrossCuT
I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of people who do this to post their bucket videos online are not actually donating money. :(

Amppax
Don't participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge. The donations go to a company that uses embryonic stem cell research. So donate somewhere else.

dUSt
If you're doing the ice bucket challenge, make sure you promote organizations that do not support embryonic stem cell research, like: http://www.jp2mri.org/ -or- http://www.teamgleason.org/
CrossCuT
Can I donate and not dump water on myself? Does that count?
PhuturePriest
Can I donate and not dump water on myself? Does that count? As long as it's not to the ALS.
dUSt
Personally, there is a list of things I need to donate to before this. I am not saying it is unworthy, but there are many more pressing matters in the world right now, in my opinion. Again, I don't want to discourage donating to this cause, but for me, with only so much time and resources to spread around, there are other things more important. Ice_nine
If you were close to someone who was wasting away from ALS I'm sure you'd have a different perspective. It's a really terrible disease. Probably on my top 10 do not want to watch anyone I know die from this list. I get that no one can be a superhero and donate to every cause, but I think it's a little insensitive to say "there are more important things." I think it's prudent to maybe keep that thought to yourself.

I at least hope that you saw how I wasn't saying one cause was more important than another--but in my life right now, for me personally, there are other things I need to be donating to first. But you're right--probably should have just stayed silent about it.
