Does this video seem like it is saying life is terrible, give things away and give up or what?

Before you asked that question, I was going to say that I don't understand the film. I think you're right. The film seems to suggest that that ultimately, everything is futile: if you win money, you're going to lose it so it's better to give it away. I think it's also saying that everything is chance and luck, there is no such thing as choice (free will) and consequence based on decisions.  I think the film is saying that if you want to be truly happy, free from heartache and loss, then achieve your own fate by denying it. Just give up everything and become a Buddhist monk---that is what it seems to be saying. Very pessimistic.

The movie seems to ask, what would happen if the man gave his ticket to someone in need? Would the girl still break up with him? The answer? Yes, she would still break up with him, he would go home by himself without meeting anyone. the only good that would come out of it would be that somebody who needed the money had it ( for what and for how long nobody knows). At least, he didn't have to be robbed. Well, maybe the guy in the wheelchair would be robbed later on.  All and all very bleak.

What you think, Light and Truth? I'd like to know if anybody has any differing opinions, although I don't see how that could be possible about this particular short film.

I took it as a public service announcement to avoid Sri Lanka.

Those exist for all countries. Don't take it specifically.

I think there was something about pulling one's self up at the end that is supposed to pull things together. Maybe bad things happen, and we can't rely on fate or life to make things better?
