blazeingstar
Honestly, I got sick of horrible homilies where priests used half-deaf Daily Mass crowd as their verbal dumping ground. I am sick of hearing that Mortal sin isn't real, that "the new Pope" is going to allow women priests, or homosexual marriages. That the incarnation is just a story, that the miracle of the 5 loaves and 2 fishes were that Jews shared, that the Eucharist should be open to all faiths including Islamists and Athiests, that God invented science and thus ABC is fine, etc, etc. I go once a week because that's all the homily I can take. Have you reported these things to the Bishop's office?
blazeingstar
Have you reported these things to the Bishop's office? Oh the bishop's office is well aware. It's at far to many parishes for them to do anything about. One priest even put his words in the newspaper (which of course published it) and the Bishop did nothing. This crosses a few dioceses. The bishop is too busy getting donations for Catholic Charity....

I don't care if it's a widespread problem, that just means he needs to pay extra attention to it. When he is at his judgment and Jesus asks him why he allowed thousands of souls under his care to be lead away from the Church by the wolves, "It was just so far widespread!" is not going to fly as a valid excuse. Oh yay, well you try. You remind me of Scrappy Doo. After years in the Northeast, going to what now probably counts as hundreds of parishes, and a dozen dioceses, I don't see it getting better anytime soon. This is not just one priest, or parish, it isn't even one dioceses. The answer is always the same. The parish is lucrative, active, and the priest isn't a pedophile. Shouldn't we all be grateful for that? /scarcasm Then we have land-grabby actions and off kilter parishoners that has lead to a 10 year round the clock sit in to save a parish that was closed by the diocese back in 2004. Our options are to either do our best to fight the fire, which will help at least a little bit, or do as we've been doing and do nothing as Rome burns all around us. The conclusion to me seems obvious.

Most of the priests who spew this stuff are ancient anyway.

Yes, those priests are ancient and are going to die off soon, but so are many of the people whom they have taught for years.

Bye Felicia! -dUSt[/mod] Seriously, I'm going to stop talking now because I don't know how much sillier this conversation can get. I have been to the Bishops and tehy don't care. Other people have been to the Pope and don't get anywhere through the burocery. You do know that those 12 men were sent by God to give their lives? You are aware that life is not as simple as "go out and fix everything" Meh, I'll give you a pass for being so young. Yay you can fix the world. Yay you. PhuturePriest
PM has already deemed me pretty much Hellbound so why should I care what you say? that, and I do plenty of my own "evangelization", kthanks You have notified the Bishops, and they do not care. You did your job, and that's fine. I do not think you are hellbound, and I don't think anyone else does, either. You are a blunt person, and I like that. Blunt personalities are preferable to nauseating people that sugar-coat everything.
