dUSt
So I had an idea of a Catholic junk exchange. If you are like me, you have some Catholic stuff you have no use for anymore, or are willing to part with if you knew it would be going to a good home. Rosaries, books, movies, crucifixes, holy cards, statues, relics even. And it doesn't really have to be ALL Catholic related. Maybe you have a surge protector or set of computer speakers you are just going to give away or throw in a closet for years... Here's my proposal. You pack up a box of junk. Someone else packs up a box of junk. Another person packs up a box of junk. Your box of junks goes to someone else. Someone else's box of junk go to you. The FUN part of this is the anticipation and excitement of opening up a box of junk and seeing all your new stuff. And, of course, posting pictures of all the junk you got. Any interest? I can organize a system where all the boxes get sent to phatmass, and then phatmass distributes the unopened boxes randomly to everyone who sent one in. A Catholic junk exchange! chrysostom
I would do this except I have no Catholic junk. I would like some though. I'm trying to find out inexpensive ways to make my room look Catholic but at the local Catholic gift shop the prices are exorbitant...

I hit up thrift stores about once a week, and even there it is hard to find good Catholic stuff. Every once in awhile you can find some nice things. I am lucky though, because I live in an area where I could go to about 20 different major thrift stores in one round if I wanted to make a day of it. Nihil Obstat
I would participate in this. I have at least a box's worth of books that I do not see myself reading anytime soon.
Credo in Deum
What if someone sends a box of bad junk? Just think I go to open my box of catholic stuff only to find an ounce of purple kush, zigzags, two 40's of Old English, and a bottle of Maddog 20/20. This will not end well. Vincent Vega
Then we could have a round two, where you send off all the crap from round one that you didn't want on to someone else.
CatherineM
I participate in one of these with my EDC forum. That's full of knives and flashlights, so canada only. Customs would toss most of it.

I send knives back and forth across the border all the time. It is easy as long as everything is documented and nothing prohibited is being sent.
