I'm glad that the one gentleman was able to keep his relationship with his partner, albeit chaste. Good for them!

I have family members with this issue, so I was curious to watch the film. I was really shocked by how inappropriate some of the content was. I wish it had been handled more delicately. Perhaps I'm just not used to this subject matter, but I felt the video should have held a warning of mature content.

For a second I thought you were going to talk about the 1994 movie Priest. [Edit:  Not that I love that movie, just thought for sure that's what you meant]

I have not seen the movie. Broadly speaking, what sort of content are we talking about?

Hmmm. I don't want to get censored. Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of good in it, but I believe certain things said were unnecessary. One guy said something that even he realized he shouldn't have said, and the interviewer said it was great. They kept it in.

Here is the link to the review by Crisis magazine. It mentions one of the things that turned my stomach.

I'm curious, but not curious enough to read that whole article.

Lol. I totally know what you mean. One of my Achilles' Heels is my curiosity. Although the film was interesting, I kinda wish I hadn't watched it because it was disturbing. I think it's probably best for someone coming out of that lifestyle to watch, not for a straight, sheltered girl like me. Lol

One of the guys on there broke my heart, and I prayed for him, so I guess some good came out of my watching it.

I watched about half of it and their personal stories are amazing. Yes, they are very very blunt about their experiences, but thats life.

I want to finish it then decide how I feel about it as a whole.

I wouldn't say it was necessarily inappropriate — just blunt and for mature audiences.

It's good to not tip-toe around this particular issue because it is such an important one, to some people at least (to me, for sure.)

I didn't find it really that graphic, to be honest. I watched it and kept waiting for what you might be referring to, but nothing really stood out as particularly shocking. It is a mature subject, but it seems like one would assume that without an explicit forewarning. I don't know how you could have an hour long documentary about homosexuality without some reference to sexual activity. Personally I think they struck a good balance with being real about their experiences, while also keeping graphic details out.

Some of the cinematic style bugged me though.

I found the twins thing really shocking, for example. I didn't think the woman referred to it all delicately. It was obscene. Perhaps I was naive thinking it would be pretty clean. As I said, I'm sheltered, but yikes about that bit.

I hope it helped you, Tardis. :) I just wish it had held a Mature Audiences Only warning beforehand. If a minor watched it, that wouldn't be good, IMO.
