PhuturePriest
OH SNAP! My fave is the Prisoner of Azkaban! It's a pretty good one. I have to say I like the books in mid-series than the rest, but that doesn't mean I don't like the rest of the books. All of them are perfect, I'm just more inclined to the perfection of the middle books.
CrossCuT
The only one I had a hard time finishing was Order of the Phoenix. Oh my goodness that one got boring in the middle.

Absolute lies. Order of the Phoenix is perfection all the way through. I was never once bored with it.

CrossCuT
Im always looking for stories similar. Im not sure if you checked out the book suggestion thread, but there is a shorter series centering around a female necromancer. The feel of the story is very similar to Harry Potter. So if you dont mind the main protagonist being a girl you might enjoy it! There is a lot of discussion that could happen with those books and Im always looking for people to chat with about them! What have you gathered from me as a person that you think a female protagonist would bother me? Have you not seen my infamous Anne of Green Gables thread? PhuturePriest
I like Lockhart for one main reason. He was an absolute, utter, despicable fraud, but he was only able to maintain that fraud because he was actually highly skilled in his own right at a totally different thing than what he was famous for, i.e. memory charms. Nobody really knew that he was essentially a memory charm savant because it did not fit the persona he had created. But if I remember correctly, it was implied that he was possibly the very best wizard in the world at that spell. Really interesting concept, IMO. I just looked it up. It turns out not only was Gilderoy Lockhart in fact very smart and talented, but so much so that he was sorted into Ravenclaw house.
