oremus1
bros do you ever feel like Mass is so Holy you should not go to daily mass? like on Sunday one prepares by First Vespers the night before, prayerfully reading the Gospel, going to confession etc. cannot do everyday. then mass would not feel as special also if it is everyday. also for those who go to the EF mass and use EF office, often that is only one per week and it is hard mixing two calendars and beign accusomted to the Novus Ordo which can be considerably different. We don't go to mass because it "feels special" -- nor should we avoid it because it feels too holy. There's a certain danger in basing our practices on our emotional experiences. We do it for... Benedictus
It can be hard to get in the habit of going daily. But once it's a routine that's built into the centre of everything else it gets easier. My tips would be to join parish groups or rosary circles, often these are held before or after mass. They help create a structure and add more impetus to keep going. After a while people you know from these may arrange to go to mass with you, which helps with keeping motivated I've found. Once it becomes second nature it becomes a total blessing - it feels like something's missing if you don't go. I tend to do my rosary in the church before or after mass - I've found Mary carries me to mass more often than not :joecool: Also, be willing to church hop - I printed out a list of all parishes near my home and work that do weekday mass. I then go to either a morning, a lunchtime, or late mass depending on the needs of the day.

Immanuel
I confess, I have not been to a weekday mass in a long time. At one time in my life (pre-job, pre-wife, pre-kids) I would regularly attend daily mass. It was extremely fulfilling. I have allowed all of the other things in my life to consume my time. No more. I am pledging, right now, right here, to you my pham, that I will make time at least one day a week to attend a weekday mass.Attainable goal. Hopefully this can increase in the future as I adjust. Any of you slackers with me?!?!WE CAN DO IT!!! I'm in dUSt ! Even since I've just retired, it still can be hard to get in the habit of going daily. I pledge at least once a week. It's not about Mass feeling "special". The Church recommends we go daily. We get to participate in the Sacrifice of the Mass and receive Jesus in the Eucharist. I don't know of many Saints who didn't go to daily Mass, and every Saint that did said it was imperative to their spiritual life and salvation. fides' Jack
Sure, as soon as the whole wife/kids/pregnancy/job/school thing slows down - you got it! Seriously, I'd love to, especially for the kids, but I don't think it's even possible right now.

I have been completely lucky that my parish has daily EF, so there is no mixing of calendars. However, when I do attend OF, it's usually on a feast day that has not been transferred. Also, my name day saint has two feast days with the different calendars - I celebrate twice. What's more difficult for me is switching between Sunday Masses - I like the one reading cycle system, and the high Masses are unparalleled (although it seems I've lucked out with my parish, who have some pretty skilled singers and a very good organist.)
