Haha oh I'm terrible.

Oh dear.  I hope you didn't have the same reaction as one of my former customers.  I really wish I could have banned him from the store.  The guy was about 70 and a total sleaze.  I worked in the liquor store (which is still attached to the main store and you can see the main store through a gate) and I didn't like being around him.  He came in every few days.  :X

Ash Wednesday

Speaking as a friendly neighborhood phatmass historian:

The "Church Militant" tag, if I'm not mistaken, was put in place so that people visiting the board would NOT get confused about what the Church actually teaches. If you received that tag, it was because you demonstrated that you assent to all of the teachings of the Church and there is no confusion about it.

It used to be that some had "Church Faithful" for being faithful to the Church, and others that were more active defenders of the faith in addition to this were "Church Militant" but eventually the two were merged.

I remember other Catholic sites giving phatmass a fidelity rating would try to demote the site, one of the criticisms was the non-Catholics or non-religious posting on the board, and our counter-argument to this was that we had faithful Catholics around to educate and clarify. I never agreed with the idea of having people besides Catholics as being a "criticism" of a site (Catholic Answers has a good fidelity rating but their message boards are a hot mess in this regard but they never got called out on it like PM did) -- nonetheless it was something phatmass had to stand up for, so the designations are there for a reason.

Church Militant isn't a "these are the cool people" tag or "these people are better people than everyone else" tag. When you die, God is not going to ask you what your phatmass tag is.

It's really very simple. Don't be a butthead because you're Church Militant. Don't be a butthead because you're not.

Just don't be a butthead. dUSt doesn't have time to babysit and I know way too many burnt out Minions of Death.

What a great post, although I would have ended with the line: "Now make like a tree and get the hell outta here."

Probably also worth mentioning for those new here -- posters on the OTHER end of the spectrum that question the validity of the new mass or support the SSPX get dinged with a phish as well. So, yeah. The tags are for clarity, not intended as a measuring stick for the person's soul. That's God's job.

One was a longtime poster and I don't remember the specifics but he was getting in a bunch of fights with a number of members on the board and I finally lost it and told him he was being a baby. Good times. :|

I mean I know I'm an oddball but an email explaining what I did would have been nice... haven't even had a warning from a Minion of Death for anything...

I was a smidge disappointed to see you got banned, even though I find your posts obnoxious sometimes. Okay, maybe quite frequently, but nonetheless.
