jazzytakara
A month ago, I injured my knee pretty badly at work. I was under doctor's orders to not work for two weeks and after those two weeks, I was placed on modified duties at work for six weeks (sitting the entire, taking the bus to work/not walking, using the elevator/not using stairs, and having someone assist me at work. I missed mass a lot in the beginning of the injury de to the high pain levels. I can barely get through my shifts at work and have currently had to have an x-ray and scheduled an MRI to see if my knee is fractured (thus explaining why I haven't recovered yet). Because it was a work place injury, there is emphasis on recovering at work. I missed mass today because I was so tired this morning and the idea of travelling on my sore knee further than I had to, so I opted to stay home and rest my knee; however, I was unable to call in to work to request the day off and still had to go to work due to the fact that I wasn't able to miss it without causing a lot of issues. If I had the choice, I would have stayed home from work too. My question is, whether or not I committed a mortal or venial sin by missing mass today. I regret not going, but since I knew I would be in a lot of pain later in the day, I didn't want to worsen that pain. I really need to find someone to give me a ride to mass until my injury has healed.
cappie
If any sin it would be venial at the most. Hope you recover soon. I have a bad knee which "pinches" when I least expect it :pinch: especially genuflecting at Mass I was incapacitated for a time and so I know a little of how you may feel.
