southern california guy Posted July 6, 2014 Author Share Posted July 6, 2014 I thought you guys might be curious to see a picture of the snake. It disappeared shortly after I took the picture (I think my cat ate it.. He finally came around hungry today.). Anyway it is a "Speckled" rattlesnake. The head is right near the tail and the rattle -- and you can see some dark rings on the tail just before the rattle. I think it is interesting because it did not have the typical markings that I associate with rattlesnakes. And apparently it is the most common rattlesnake in my area.
