Thijs
It has started several years back when I got a chance to visit with a friend to a nursing home run by Augustinian Sisters of St Rita. We had a chance to talk to one of the sister about their life and apostolate. There were 4 old sisters then. Since that day, I offered a single prayer during consecration on every Mass I have attended, offering some small sacrifices I have encountered everyday and every 3rd decade of the Rosary I am praying. I am praying that God will send them vocations Now it seems that Sisters of St Rita has 2 novices (http://www.sistersofstrita.org/) (https://www.facebook.com/sistersofstritaosa) but my prayers does not end them. I am praying that God will send them more. I will be praying with these 3 other religious congregations as well that God wil send them vocations most especially this year. For the Franciscan Handmaids of the Most Pure Heart of Mary (http://franciscanhandmaidsofmary.org/history.htm) there are so few of them. Count years from now and they will be gone. ** a great article about them (http://www.nytimes.com/2001/10/13/nyregion/dwindling-numbers-constant-faith-mostly-black-order-nuns-harlem-celebrates-85.html?pagewanted=all) The All Saints Sisters of The Poor (http://www.allsaintssisters.org/), they coverted to our faith and most of them are of the advance age as well. Another converts, the Sisters of our Mother of Divine Grace (http://www.sistersmdg.org/) . They are 4 now. But with their mission and future apostolic activities for rural communities they could have a great impact to the religious life and the Catholic life of those communities. Hence, younger vocation is a must. These are 4 of the faithful communities that are in need of vocations and risks dying. I asks if some of us who are willing could offer a daily prayer for them, whether at Mass, a decade of Rosary and a small daily sacrifice for each day. Also, some of the ladies here due to whatever circumstances left their former communities while still in formation, and still God may call you to a religious life please do consider them, if not your friend who are also discerning; tell them. You can spread the word among your friends as well who are discerning, post a notice on your parish bulletin boards, and spread their comminuties online. Yes, some of the ladies here may think that they are already old and may not like joining older communities; but talk to the sisters, talk to them about their fidelity, asks their stories how they build that parochial school with just a dollar from their pocket and only with lots oif prayers, how they never return to the country where they came from to be rooted her and start a community, etc. Their fidelity to the Church's teachings and their way of life and their habits are great jewels that it would be a great shame if they will be forever lost. Vocations for them is just there, maybe God is counting on us to let these women that these sisters exist.
nikita92
If they would be open to and allow mature discerners.. say.. in their 50's,I bet these smaller communities would get more attention and experiance a increase of interest that would in turn, help keep their communities viable and I can't help but feel it would be a positive for both the community and the discerners alike!;)

They are included on the website I made. ;)
