dairygirl4u2c
human laws were elevated by Moses to the law of God, and adds to discrediting OTestament Law here is an example. Matthew 19:8 "Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning." isn't the most straight forward explanation that God was against permitting the divorce, but Moses allowed for it? Yes it was part of Mosaic Law, treated as God's law by everyone. the bible and most christians say that moses was acting according to God's rule, though, it was Mosaic Law, God's Law. but then we'd have God being for it, before it was against it. even if God just permitted it, that shows he was not being consistent because he specifically gave them an opt out. it would be akin to saying the catholic church saying "okay, we give you a way to get 'catholic divorced' cause you can't seem to get along' (actually, with the pauline and petrine privileges, they get into that already... but that is another debate at another time) what are we to think about OTestament laws when we have such nonsense? to say it is God's law, turns God's law into practical approachings of situations, instead of morally principaled approachings. divorce is wrong, but since the marriage doesn't work, we can allow it? or, since we allow it for practical purposes, it's not wrong to begin with? this is all arbitrary, and or unprincipled, and or contradictory.
