Fidei Defensor
O God, through the mediation of Mary our Mother, you granted your priest St. JosemarÃa countless graces, choosing him as a most faithful instrument to found Opus Dei, a way of sanctification in daily work and in the fulfillment of the Christian's ordinary duties. Grant that I too may learn to turn all the circumstances and events of my life into occasions of loving You and serving the Church, the Pope and all souls with joy and simplicity, lighting up the pathways of this earth with faith and love. Deign to grant me, through the intercession of St. JosemarÃa, the favor of ... (make your request). Amen. Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory be to the Father. Fidei Defensor
From the propers of saints for his feast today—the collect: O God, who raised up your priest Saint Josemaria Escriva in the Church to proclaim the universal call to holiness and the apostolate, grant that by his intercession and example we may, through our daily work, be formed in the likeness of Jesus your Son and serve the work of redemption with burning love. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

BG45
Such a quotable Saint and holy man. My personal favorite thing he said, had to be something I try to keep in mind online: ''You'll gain more with an affectionate word than you ever would from three hours of quarreling. Control your temper." - St Josemaria Escriva A more general thing that he said that gives me hope is to remind me that I (and no other person on this Earth) am not a lost cause while down in the dumps:

John Ryan
As much as I love corporal mortification, Opus Dei is too far-right for me.

Fidei Defensor
As much as I love corporal mortification, Opus Dei is too far-right for me. Opus Dei's core mission is the universal call to holiness, especially in the seemingly mundane activities of each day. I love the idea that everything can and ought to be offered to God and done in His service.
