I know a lot of VS Phatmassers seldom venture outside the VS unless there is a good reason.  Might have one for you!

 

So... I want to alert you to the Summer Reading thread, the 'Summer Book Thing' that is starting today.  We generally have a lot of fun doing it, and it can be a good chance to read a religious (or secular) book you've been intending to get read.  No pressure.... just wanted all of you to know that it is there if you are interested.

Oh cool, what exactly is it. Like a reading club were were you all read the same book?

Actually, you can read any book you want to read.  And we let you count 'double' if it is a book that is a challenge to you.

 

If you go to the thread, you'll see links for the last 2 times we did it.... and we had a blast.

Country Steve, a lot of people DID read the same books, but a lot of people also said they got ideas for FUTURE books from the ones that were read last time.  

 

I picked up the Autobiography of a Hunted Priest and the Book Thief off last year's recommendations, and will probably read those and the Collected Letters of St. Teresa this year..... (Have to do the last two for my Secular Order reading, and this is a good chance to have at 'em!)
