Perigrina
I see that Winchester has not presented a supporting argument (unless one counts a gif) for his claims that this is pseudoscience. We are not talking about phlebotinum here. Real science takes time for ideas to be accepted. When the hypothesis that smoking tobacco is harmful was proposed it took time and research to establish this. It did not turn into real science when the tobacco companies admitted it was true. What determines whether one is doing science is the process. There are real scientists doing real studies on harmful effects of high fructose corn syrup with mixed results. The studies which conclude that it is not worse than other sugars tend to be financed by corn producers. Even if those studies are correct, it is well established that any sugars in the quantity used in soft drinks are likely to be harmful if regularly consumed. It is not pseudoscience to advise people to avoid soft drinks. There is sufficient evidence to support this. As for you, Winchester, I have to thank you. I have spent a lot of my life being an arrogant jerk who talks down to people. It was very good for me to be on the receiving end of it. In return, I advise you to have a good long think about whether you want to be that person.

Perigrina
well. you told him. Yes, I even implied that he reminds me of me. Insults do not get much worse than that.

Perigrina
I want to explain why I cannot get into treating this as a light-hearted, amusing thread. In recent years, both of my husband's parents died of cancer. Horrible, ugly deaths. The typical Western lifestyle kills people. This past Advent, my husband was diagnosed with cancer (technically the doctor said there was a 99% chance it was cancer) and told he needed surgery as soon as possible. Except the surgery got delayed for four months. Finally the tumour was removed and analyzed. It turns out it was a rare disease that resembles cancer so closely that they can only be distinguished with a full analysis after removal. This was great news and we were very happy. However, after months of holding it together through the crisis, I fell apart. I broke down physically and emotionally and I am now slowly putting my life back together. I came to this phorum because I could not handle the stress of the other places I had been posting lately. (Also, I had been banned from one of them.) I am proud because pride is my besetting sin. But I know that I have nothing to be proud of. I am broken in just about every way it is possible to be broken.

AveMaria02
I seen that video a few days ago. It was quite disgusting. Nevertheless, I still crave my Diet Mountain Dew. I haven't been drinking it hardly at all lately though. For one thing, Pepsi Company supports the homosexual agenda which we Catholics are against and therefore I don't want to buy their products. For another, I have grown quite fond of instant coffee for my caffeine fix. Plus, coffee actually has some health benefits for you. Here's an article about the health benefits of coffee: http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/coffee-new-health-food

Perigrina
Because your posts have been specific, whereas mine was general. You referred to this thread as full of pseudoscience. I asked you to back up that claim and you did not. I specifically addressed this. I neither said nor thought that you had posted about me. I was sincere about thanking you. I really am grateful. And I was sincere and well-intentioned about my advice.
CrossCuT
They do tell you what they're battered in: tempura. Same thing they make your sweet-n-sour chicken with at the local Chinese place. I dont eat that stuff either.
