CrossCuT
Nothing supernatural. Just a gang war. Alrighty! Ill add that to the list! Ive only watched the first episode of Sword Art but Id like to give it chance before I write it off.
Nihil Obstat
Alrighty! Ill add that to the list! Ive only watched the first episode of Sword Art but Id like to give it chance before I write it off. That show started out with so much potential. They could have made it into a really excellent look at the artificial culture of their world, the psychological effects it has on the people inside. In the first three or four episodes it looked like they would do that, but then instead they basically just turned it into a big stupid overpowered hero show. Nihil Obstat
Kirito is THE DEFINITION of Marty Stu. Basically every single cliche, he has it. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MarySue http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MartyStu
Nihil Obstat
So yeah, I think the show was utter trash, but at the same time I do not regret watching it. :P Sometimes you need those crap shows just for a bit of fun.

arfink
So do you think if I read them at 11 then I should be able to watch FMA now? If your folks were OK with reading the manga then the anime shouldn't be too big an issue. I thought the manga was considerably more gory, actually. CrossCuT
Nihil, I started watching Aria and the scarlet ammo and wow...it is SO similar to Toradora. I wonder if there is some connection there... But I have to say...some of these animes are so odd. For instance in Aquarion Genesis, it almost exactly like Pacific Rim...where people rode in these huge robots. The pilots would fuse their minds/souls/essences together to super power the robot and fight bad guys. But anyway,...when they fused it would be almost like they were doing the tango...it was very odd. But minus that the show was good. But with this show...so this guy Aria is with has this altered mental state that is often activated by sexual desire of women...or just intense emotions. Very awkward haha. I am enjoying it though. Im only on episode 3 currently. Edited June 20, 2014 by CrossCuT
Nihil Obstat
A connection? Of course; it's Rie Kugimiya. :proud: Beyond that, it will always seem familiar because it doesn't hesitate to use tropes to their full potential, sometimes even to the point of cliche. And it's awesome. :D
CrossCuT
Well, you need to watch one of my suggestions then! Maybe Aquarion Genesis. (NOT Evol.)
