But that didn't answer the question.

Do they literally need it like they do oxygen? No. But some people are very extroverted and need that much social interaction. Others are more introverted. Don't be a hater.

I propose a scientific study. A group of extraverts will be deprived of social interaction for one day. A group of introverts will be deprived of alone time for a day. A control group of randomly selected people will be deprived of oxygen for a day. A group of randomly selected people will be deprived of nothing and act as a control.

Miles has been randomly selected to be deprived of oxygen and social interaction for a day.

Congratulations!

So apparently I'm the only social one on Phatmass.

People who voted "No", keep in mind that they work there 8 hours a day, and they need social interaction just as much as you do.

Out in the real world, extroverts are the majority, so people who do hair should get plenty of social interaction from most of their customers, even if they leave the introverts in peace.

I am not convinced of this whatsoever. I would actually argue most are introverted. Either that, or 90% of the people I know just happen to be introverted. Introversion and extroversion do not mean talkative vs. non-talkative, like most think they do. One of my best friends is super outgoing and wants to be friends with everybody, and no one would think she's an introvert, but in reality she is in fact introverted.

Here is a chart which shows extroverts as a clear majority: http://www.mypersonality.info/personality-types/population-gender/

I have seen others that estimate a close to equal distribution.  I do not recall ever seeing estimates which showed an introvert majority.
