I dont. In fact it tires me out.

I go to the same salon every time but I dont really care which stylist cuts my hair because my style is not very high maintenance. Occasionally I get this younger girl who wont stop talking. Dont get me wrong, she is super nice and its very funny...but I just wanna sit there and melt into my chair with my eyes closed.

The feeling of someone shampooing my hair, running a brush through it etc is super relaxing. Im a weirdo.

A close friend of my has very strong feelings on this as well and she hates it when her stylist talks to her as well. Some people dont care. So I was curious.

I prefer not to talk too much, but since my average haircut lasts about fifteen minutes, I do not find it to be much of a burden.

My haircut usually lasts thirty minutes or longer, and I always go to the same stylist. She's very talkative, and I always enjoy speaking with her. I find haircuts feel incredibly good as well (something I'll miss when I'm bald one day), but talking makes it more fun for me.

I was hoping FP would answer. I expected an extrovert to like the talking and I wanted to see if I was right.

If I don't wanna talk I just mumble and speak with short sentences. When they've had enough of "huh what did you say? Still didn't get that what? Oh never mind..." They'll hush up and cut my dark, thick fantastic hair.

Because he is the only extrovert here, right?

I'm pretty much the phorum extrovert. Everyone else is introverted, which is proven by the fact that they spend so much time here. :P The only reason I devote quite as much time here as I do is because all my friends live 2 hours away, and I need some way to talk and socialize with people on a daily basis or I'll die. :P

I post here regularly because reading Miles' posts is the most extreme form of mortification I have yet to come across that does not involve imminent death.

I go to the same stylist and love catching up. She's been doing my hair for close to 10 years now. When I get shampooed that's all in silence and I prefer that. Usually it's done by a different girl. But the actual cut we gab away, and usually involve the stylist and client next to us.

There has been one exception for me. The day before my wedding Katy and I were running around doing last minute errands, one of which was getting my hair cut. We found the closest place that did not look too sketchy, and that could take walk-ins. We got to talking with the stylist about the wedding, and it turned out that one of her brothers was a priest in the diocese, and another was a bishop elsewhere. That was a really nice encounter. It was a good haircut too.
