cartermia
So I have poison ivy all over my body just about: my face, arms, hands, stomach, legs, feet, and so on and so forth. I have taken a bleach bath (1 cup of bleach in a bathtub) and an oatmeal bath. I have taken Benadryl and used the Benadryl lotion. Anybody have any other ideas? Perigrina
Sorry this happened to you. I can't think of anything else. Offer it up and/or do something fun to distract yourself.
maximillion
Prayers for you because we don't have PI here in the UK so I have no ideas to offer......
cartermia
I am moving to the UK. Thanks for the prayers, and the poison seems to be drying up some.
chrysostom
I am moving to the UK. Thanks for the prayers, and the poison seems to be drying up some. The stinging nettles shall give you a warm welcome.
brandelynmarie
Calamine lotion was the best thing ever for me when I had hives. :) I would wear old clothes & have a trusted friend literally paint it over all of the itchies.:hehe2: It was a mess! I would also recommend aloe lotion with a numbing agent or a spray with lidocaine. These are usually used for sunburns, but I think they would help. ;) Edited June 7, 2014 by brandelynmarie
AnneLine
There is NO poison Ivy in California. However, we have poison oak. :( If it is really bad, Cartermia, give your doctor a call.... they can give you some stuff if needed... for us in your itchiness, and we will pray for you. It's nasty.
cartermia
Don't even get me started on poison oak... My mom just told me she might schedule a doctor's appointment for Monday if this doesn't get better by then. And she also told me I have a histamine intolerance, so I am going to go research that. Spem in alium
:( We don't have poison ivy here either, but it sounds awful. I'd suggest keeping it clean, wearing loose clothing and using some kind of soothing cream to relieve the itch. cartermia
Just took another bleach bath and oatmeal bath. They seem to be helping but it seems to keep on spreading.
ChristinaTherese
Don't touch it. It spreads if you do and then touch other parts of yourself.
Comingback
I don't have anything to add re advice but I hope it gets better soon. That has got to be just miserable.
ImageTrinity
Calamine lotion and a trip to the doctor's. Please don't repeat the bleach bath...you can give yourself a nasty chemical burn that way!
AnneLine
Seriously, Carter, the trip to the doctor makes sense. They can give you stuff to counteract the irritation. And you don't want to do anything to spread the serum (what oozes out of the itchy spots, if it is like P.O.) to unaffected parts. So wash wash WASH your hands in plain soap and water EVERY time to have to do anything remotely neaer to touching the affected parts. And calamine lotion WILL help.... but you will look like a wall that has had paint to cover graffiti, so it will be good for your humility, too. Pray for us.
