chrysostom
The other thing that draws me to the ordinary form is that it's very Roman. There is something undeniably Roman about a mass that is simple and direct with no extra frills. Rather like being in a quiet room with an old friend. I like the ritual just as the sacramentary serves it up, as some prefer their steak: just the meat. The extra stuff (Latin, incense, veils, or coming from the other direction, guitars and drum sets and all that stuff) is nice some of the time, but a constant diet of it becomes heavy and burdensome for me. :P I guess I feel the same way about the EF Low Mass. :) But yes I do like a simple reverent OF Mass too. fides' Jack
The one and only thing: that the Church, in her infinite wisdom (as guided by the Holy Spirit), has deemed it to be the Ordinary - that is, what is intended for the masses (no pun intended). Above all else, I want my kids to grow up knowing how to be obedient to the Magisterium, and so even if it's not strictly required, that's where we are. Other than that, I find no reason whatsoever to attend a regular diocesan parish.

AveMaria02
The main thing that I like about the Ordinary Form of the Mass, also known as the Novus Ordo Mass is that it is in English. I do not understand Latin in the least and so I would be lost in a Traditional Latin Mass, also known as the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. However, I do believe the Traditional Latin Mass would be amazingly beautiful and I want to go to one someday soon. There is one that takes place in Evansville which is about an hour drive from here. I am thinking about going soon. That said, when it comes to the Ordinary Form of the Mass, I strongly prefer a more traditional version fo the Ordinary Form of the Mass. I want it to have fairly traditional and reverent hymns and a reverent liturgy. I don't like the more modern styles of the Ordinary Form of the Mass. There is a place near here that has the Ordinary Form of the Mass but which also has many of the words in Latin. I am thinking about going there today.
