Credo in Deum
TV remote lifts. The amount of reps I will do will depend on what's on. TIP: Carbs are essential when doing TV remote lifting.

TheresaThoma
Today I did a 5 minute warm up walk, 10 minute run/jog (4 mph) one minute walk 15 minute run/jog and 5 minute cool down. In total just over 2 miles on the treadmill. I'm pretty proud and hoping in a couple of weeks to do a full 20 minute run/jog.
tigger60
Congratulations TT I am proud of you and I want to encourage you to keep going. I have been with a gym for 8 years and have had a number of trainers along the way and yes my weight has gone up and down along the way but I have keep with it and will keep with it because I feel better doing that then sitting on the couch and becoming a couch potato. I also just started what is called a Senior exercise class at the gym and even though I am one of the younger ones I think it is fun to exercise with people who are older then you and still want to stay active. I use one and its very similar to that. Congratulations TT I am proud of you and I want to encourage you to keep going. Spem in alium
I don't do organised physical exercise anymore, and a knee injury makes me hesitant to do anything too strenuous. I used to do rowing a few years back and visit the gym regularly, and I really liked using the elliptical trainers which were really good with my injury. These days I love to walk. My job is good in that I often walk to meet with my clients, sometimes for 40 minutes.
TheresaThoma
Thats amesome! Do you use a running app by chance? I use one and its very similar to that. I don't use a running app. I started out with this on week six http://healthy-living.global-endeavor.com/beginner-running-training/ . When I went up to week 7 I realized that instead of the two 9 minute runs I could do two ten minute runs with a 1 minute break between. I have added in an extra one minute walk and then running for 3-5 minutes. Mostly it is just listening to my body and doing what is challenges me but not pushing too far. TheresaThoma
Today I walked for about 2 hours straight. It started out as a walk in the local park/woods and me trying to use the back way to get home but I got a bit turned around, finally found my way back to the road and just walked home from there. It was fun though and really pretty. I have no clue how far I actually walked though.
Spem in alium
That's awesome, TT. I would do that kind of walking more often if I didn't really dislike getting lost.
tigger60
TT you need to get yourself a pedometer they work wonderfully. I have had one for years and a friend and I have used them to cyber walk across America and Back. We went from SF to Washington D.C. and back and now we are walking cyber from SJ to Maine and we planned a trip to DC when we finished that trip and I think we will be planning a trip to Maine when we finish this trip. It is fun to cyber walk Across America. But keep going on what you are doing. We all need to stay active.

Ah, that is literally just like the app I use. Do you listen to music while you run on a smart phone or ipod? There are apps you can download that run in the background and time you. They will signal you when to run or when to walk. Its really great!
TheresaThoma
Tigger- for some reason pedometers don't register my steps. I've tried with a couple and somehow my gait just doesn't work with steps CrossCut- I just use pandora on my iphone and use the treadmill timer for when to walk and run On a side note really make sure you are hydrated before working out. I didn't think I was dehydrated until I tried to run! Whoops. Back to lots of water and see what that does for tomorrow's run.
