As far as sinning - I don't consider it sinning. I think God wants me to help you and defend Him, and I don't think two months matter much in this instance.

The "Why Atheism?" thread - I've been reading for like three hours, and I'm only one page eight. It's crazy. But I've already got some comments down, which I will post when I get to the end. At like three in the morning, lol.
but the Christian girl who doesn't agree with me implied that I wasn't expressing my points with gentleness and with respect. (The atheists said that I've pushed them even further from religion.) But part of my thinks I'm wasting the time I could be using dialoging with non-Catholics who actually respect me and are willing to interact with my arguments.

LIKE ME!!!! I respect you immensely!

 to Jen!

I didn't bother to go read the thread; I get enough drama here on Phatmass. :rolling: But Jen, you are EXTREMELY charitable, so clearly these people must be mistaken. :) Maybe they were just having a BAD DAY.

By the way, Jen, I didn't realize you'd just made like ten of the pages of that thread TODAY! I was like, whoa.
P.S. I'm not trying to be a nag or anything. I just wouldn't want you to sin on my account.
Obnoxiously Charitable is right - I dont think that this is a sin... especially not mortal. Lying about yuor age couldnt be a sin our everyones Grandmothers would go to hell!

Haha, you should make a post entitled "HELP ME FIGHT ATHEISTS ON A FORUM" then you'd get lots of volunteers. I could help, but when it comes to debates, I tend to find that no matter which side he is on, PSPX is definaetly one of the more interesting posters.

BeenaBobba, you are one of the nicest people I've met online. You are certainly no b-, how dare they call you that!

One thing I've learned in my conversations with atheists is no matter how nice or charitable you are, they will always try and bring you down. Not all atheists are like that though, some are decent people, but many hold a grudge against religion (particularly Christianity) for some untold reason, hence you also.

Often when you converse with atheists they'll start off all nice and stuff, thinking they can change your ways of thinking whatever, but when they realise your beliefs are rock solid, they will usually resort to ad hominem attacks on you instead.

If you do it long enough, you might get used to is, but the first lesson is to expect it, but if it harms your faith in anyway, it's probably best leave it to those with more experience.

You did a good job!

God bless

very true. one of my best friends is an atheist - and very nice and open-minded.

he just enjoys watching others live out thier various convictions with great amusement, and sometimes makes interesting observations.
he would consider people like the ones you encountered not so much atheist, but anti-Christian

you have my prayers
