PhuturePriest
So, as was said before, I was told to wait a year to enter seminary, and I need something to do in the meantime. I was going to do two semesters at a community college, but after hearing about a program, I'm going to go to the local medical center and do a 3-month EMT program. At the end I'll do the State exams, and if I pass I'll be a certified EMT. Not only have I always found this sort of thing interesting (My dad has a friend who is an EMT and I've thought about doing it several times before), but as a bonus, it's free. Now, the way they're able to afford that is for a while when I'm on duty, I'll only be getting paid $1 an hour, but if I'm on call it jumps to $20. Let's hope there's an outbreak of mild fender benders and paper cuts the likes of which my county has never seen before. Regardless of the likelihood of that happening, even if I only get one call, it's still good experience that will look good on a seminary application, and a nice fallback if I leave seminary, or don't go at all. Anastasia13
God bless you in your endeavors, FP. People who need emergency care often need prayer as well. You can care for body and soul while you wait to study deeper soul care!

PhuturePriest
Rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother on a basic. Our Catholic faith seems to possibly disagree with your statement. Plus, I totally plan to do more than just basic, if I stick with it. This is just a good starter. Plus, the paramedics are where the money is at. HisChildForever
My brother did this a few years ago and worked as a volunteer EMT in our town. Now he does volunteer firefighting. His knowledge as an EMT definitely served as a good foundation.
