Credo in Deum
We call climate change, climate change so then the issues do not get mixed and thus lost under some sweeping generalization. The Pro-Life movement is specifically against abortion and to lump everything anti-human death under the title Pro-Life, would be to bury the current movements mission to fight abortion under a mound of schnitzel. I think that technically Pro-life as includes opposing euthanasia too. However I agree with your main point.
CrossCuT
I go by what I see, and I see many people in that movement repeatedly making claims that over time are shown to be false. And when I see so many claims that turn out to be false, it makes it harder to believe other predictions and claims by the same people. Oh you go by what you see? Then you probably believe all this stuff.... Also, please note that science is a well oiled machine. They do make mistakes but they test and test again. We learn just as much from disproved hypotheses as we do proven hypothesis. Science can observe things that are beyond the scope of our sense. Do you understand why DNA is so important? Because what we see isnt always true. For example, analogous and homologous structures. Two things might look the same, but they are actually completely different...or two things might look different but they are actually share the same function. So your argument that you only believe what you see is not something Id expect an educated person to say. Thats more of a cop out. Thats more of a cop out. Which is just another reason why I dislike and am critical of the climate change movement. Anyone who dares question that dogma has their eduction or intelligence insulted and is dismissed out of hand. I will begin to believe when climate change gets so bad that it effects the space time continuum and causes all those false predictions of the pass to become true. That or the current predictions are shown to be true, but many of them like the raising ocean levels have been recycled various times in my life time. So I will doubt until then. arfink
I never thought I would say this, but where has Hasan been lately? I had wondered if he'd make an appearance. My wishful thinking imagines he may be out of doors enjoying himself after leaving DC. :)

KnightofChrist
Well there isnt much to say in the face of willful ignorance. It is not a matter of ignorance but complete lack of trust. I do not trust the leaders of the climate change movement. They lost my trust after relying on too many 'the sky is falling' predictions that turned out to be false. Which I now believe was done to cause fear, they used fear and falsehoods to scare people into supporting their cause. If you wish to place your trust in them that is your choice. I will not question your intelligence or education.

Perigrina
*idly* The expression "sitting idle" is grammatically acceptable. The word "sitting" acts as a copula verb and therefore takes a predicate adjective. We see a similar construction in the expression "sitting pretty". Yes, I am easily distracted by grammar. Why do you ask?
