Mrs. Bro. Adam
Just plain Ignorant! Argh! 'Senior Citizen' discount. Not supposed to give it, but if I didn't I know I would've had to stay and listen to her rant and moan and groan! ARg! First, if you don't know what you're doing, ask for help! And so they mess up their copies, and then don't want to pay for them because it wasn't really their fault! They're senior citizens! Nothing is their fault! Argh! I wanna hit something! Lord grant me patience, cause I need it!
Lil Red
you sound like me when i worked at Office Depot. man, sometimes, you just wish that people were smarter. people can be really smart, i think, except when they are a customer, then they become dumb. i totally empathize, MBA, cuz i worked retail for 6 years. glad i don't have to anymore. Mrs. Bro. Adam
Well...I could handle it if it was just, like, once in a while...But it's like every day! It takes everything in me not to open a can of whoop....
Lil Red
i know. one thing i remember working at OD. i had an older lady come in, and she was always grouchy and not nice, made me do EVERYTHING for her. so it became a game to me, if i could get her to smile, or even laugh. i saw her obit in the paper about 6 months after she started coming in. she died of cancer. i think about that every time i go into a store, or i have to help someone. i think, "i don't know what's going on in their lives, i don't know what they're going through." and i'm not saying that you are mean or uncaring to these people, MBA. not at all. it's hard to put it in perspective when you deal with it day in and out. plus, i know you are a kind and caring person. Mrs. Bro. Adam
Ever notice that once you ask God to grant you something, he brings something into your life to test it? Argh! It's like, I know I need patience, but I don't want to have to practice it!
theculturewarrior
But don't let that discourage you from praying for spiritual gifts. I keep praying for humility, and at first it was tough...but I keep praying, even if it is scary to pray. We're here on this earth to become better people and to challenge others to become better people. For this we sometimes need to let God take us out of our comfort zone. But then...this is hard advice, and whether I can live it...who knows? God grant me the grace to work towards that end.
Thy Geekdom Come
This reminds me of when I was working in a Supermarket bakery and a Middle-Eastern woman came in an tried to haggle with me over donut prices...

Mrs. Bro. Adam
This reminds me of when I was working in a Supermarket bakery and a Middle-Eastern woman came in an tried to haggle with me over donut prices...
:rotfl: I've had people try to haggle prices with shipping. I'm like...I'm sorry I can't do that...And they're like, why not? So I tell them: Well...first you have the shipping bill that needs to be paid, and then you need to pay the UPS driver, and then you need to pay the workers at the shop (me), and then you have electricity, rent, heat, packaging materials, phone bills, internet, fax machine, advertising, copiers, the credit card machine. Would you like me to continue (of course I say all of this with a sweet little smile on my face). They feel so stupid for not realizing that and trying to 'cheat' us that they hush up and just pay the price that's listed. I love giving some customers guilt trips Is that wrong?
