When Is It Appropriate To Wear A Head Covering...just For Mass?

It seemed that all the threads on head coverings were quite old so I started a new one to ask a question...If a woman is going to the church for a non-Mass event, but she'll be in the Chapel, should she wear a head covering then; or is it only appropriate to wear it during the Mass itself?
