SilentJoy
***Derailed Thread Alert*** You can receive Holy Communion up to twice a day (unless you're a priest), provided that at least one reception is done within the context of the Mass. Credo in Deum
Actually no credo i think your mistaken, we can receive holy communion twice in one day, OFFICIALLY! That's what i was told anyway, pope benedict made it official supposedly in that people where misled to the truth, and priests can recieve it way more times anyway, i know a priest that does 3 holy masses on sundays but yes he is a priest and given special graces to do so and i am only a laymen so 2 surely is fine. And plus it's not like your taking communion at an Anglican church instead while still saying your a good little catholic christian, right? I received holy communion twice 3 times in one day, fssp, novus ordo and charismatic mass, all before i knew i could only officially receive twice in one day. And anyway even if i have it more times without propagating such greed for the holy Eucharist as normal to my faithful brethren than am i a heretic? Because i keep it to myself i'm not a heretic right? A heretic has to vocalise deliberate error contrary to the teachings of the magesterium, yes? Plus FP you can go to holy mass as many times as you can any day of the week, except we can only receive twice per day supposedly or do two masses on ewtn and one live, kind of like club hopping brother, though this is not recommended for confession. We are recommended to just have one confessor, although again not particularly heretical if you have varying confessors each week or month from time to time so to speak, as long as you truly believe in the absolution of the confessional. Onward christian souls. Jesus iz LORD. All glory to GOD! ***Derailed Thread Alert*** You can receive Holy Communion up to twice a day (unless you're a priest), provided that at least one reception is done within the context of the Mass. Source: Ima Genius Thank you, both. I just read about this and SilentJoy is correct. http://www.ewtn.com/expert/answers/communion_times.htm Edit: Now that I know this, I am totally going to receive communion the next time I attend a second Mass. BigJon16
Sunday is my most hated day of the week because it's always so boring and inactive, and this is what happens when I'm bored and don't get to do stuff. Some day, you'll be begging for more free time on Sundays, especially at a busy seminary or parish..

Source: Ima Genius I learned slightly differently. My understanding is that you can receive Communion up to twice a day, and the second time has to be within the context of Mass and you have to be there for the whole Mass. As always, there's an exception if you're in danger of death. (A side note: Am I correct in thinking that the no-more-than-twice-a-day rule would apply to religious as well as to lay people?) PhuturePriest
Some day, you'll be begging for more free time on Sundays, especially at a busy seminary or parish.. I'm a very active person. Inactivity drives me nuts, so I welcome the day I'm working so much that free time sounds nice.
SilentJoy
As always, there's an exception if you're in danger of death. Always, always the exceptions. :hehe2: Yes, even if you've received twice a day, you can still be given Viaticum. (SilentJoy is still correct.)
