AugustineA
I was coming home (I take the skytrain which is like the subway but on a highly elevated rail network, hence skytrain) from work, and a drunk native guy was drinking beer and making racial remarks: "Oh you're from Africa, oh you're from Russia--you won't drink this beer because you're white, oh you're from Iran. Your country sucks. You're native, drink this beer." When someone got off, I sat down in the seat across from him, and he remarked, "oh look at this white guy". Then he got really quiet. At first I thought it was because I'm bigger than him. When I got off the train, I heard him start asking the people around him, "Do you think you're going to heaven?" I think he has a good heart. He was just drunk. But I was stunned. :) I think it was because I wear a saint bracelet which is pretty visible. But it was cool, and it made my night.. CrossCuT
I was in Cologne Germany for World Youth day in 2005 and I recall a night when our group was walking through the square in front of the Cathedral on our way back to our hotel for the night and a drunk man came up to the girls and said in a slurred and drunky way "Do you know what love is?". One of our chaperones was a priest and he immediately went over to the man and started talking about what Christian Love is. Bahahaha! The drunk man didnt seem to interested in "that" kind of love...and slowly wondered off.
