PINE BLUFF, AR—Telling their son he should take it easy because he deserves it, the parents of 26-year-old Austin, TX resident Jason Gibney referred to the time he spent visiting his family in Arkansas over the Easter weekend as a vacation, household sources confirmed Tuesday. “It must feel nice to escape from work and just kick back for a while, huh?” mother Linda Gibney said of the four days her son reportedly spent in a house where the local CBS affiliate was left on at high volumes the entire day and he slept on a twin mattress in a bedroom that doubles as a storage space, escaping only when he could borrow his parents’ car. “We’re so glad you decided to spend your vacation here. This is your little getaway, so just enjoy yourself and don’t worry about anything. We want to make sure you relax.” According to reports, halfway through his so-called vacation, Jason accompanied his father, Larry Gibney, on a trip to the hardware store.

The thing I really hate about DC is the traffic. It puts me into a rage. I visit NoVA fairly regularly, but avoid DC if I can help it. lol

This is how I feel when I realize I have to take I-95 between DC and Fredericksburg to get where I'm going.

Not a fan of NoVa traffic, not at all. Edited by Vitamin

I have not been asked what I do in almost two weeks now.  That's nice.  If you work in any political circles in DC the first question everybody asks you right after they learn your name (and sometimes before) is 'so what do you do?'

My last day of work was the 29th.  I left D.C. on the 30th.  It's been 9 days but it feels like it's been months.  But also the last year seems like it lasted a week.  I took a political job.  I need to support myself.  It's a low level campaign position.  Not in my area but that's fine.  It's a pay cut but that's alright too.  I want to get reconnected politically in my state and that's a way to do it.  I don't know if it's something I'll want to do after November or if I'll take the money I saved and go to community college to learn some craft or skill and just lead a regular paced life.

I went to the doctor since I hadn't been in a year.  Over a year.  He asked me about alcohol.  Explaining the drinking culture of DC political circles to somebody not acquainted with it is a weird and alienating experience.  I don't have any dependence on alcohol.  I haven't had any except for a beer with my new team in 9 days and it was effortless.  I don't have any sort of need or dependence on drinking.  But I probably had at least a few drinks every night that I was in DC (some people smoke weed but drinking is constant and social so that's the drug of choice).  Everybody does.  That's something I'd rather avoid getting into once I start on the campaign again.

This whole thing with the drinking just makes me feel very sad for everyone in DC.

Yeah.  Although that's not just campaigns.  There's pretty big drinking culture in politics generally.  I have a friend who works for the RNC who says it's the same over there.

Hyper stressful jobs with long hours.  People just drink.

One thing i love about Australia in general is the statistic that 90% of alcohol in this nation is bought by 10% of the population and that means 90% of the population either doesn't drink alcohol or rarely drinks alcohol. And from what i can tell is that perhaps 2 percent of that 10% are poor and 3% are people that are under the age of 26. And no there not all on mind altering drugs instead and yes they work just as stressful jobs. :) Pray fervently for an about face in the u.s.a's drinking culture, I think perhaps that's why the war on drugs doesn't work in the U.S because more than 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks in one session becomes a drug too and as far as i can tell alcohol is very popular in the U.S. :) To me consumption frequency of alcoholic beverages also plays a part as to when it becomes a drug, and this includes 1 or 2. :) I really do hope Australias drinking culture even shrinks more, as i do hope the U.S drinking and drug culture does also. Eradicate recreational drugs and excess alcohol and i bet you see a dramatic reduction in promiscuity and other sexual vices in the world, who actually is confident enough to be a player without drugs and alcohol except the rich paying for prostitutes, very few.

All glory to GOD.

Jesus iz LORD.
