Also, while I think we can agree that spending money to feed starving children is more of a good than spending money to protect the rights of minorities, I also think that its easy to say that spending money to demean people is no where close to either.

I didnt mean to derail the thread. I was just trying to contribute. The poor have totes become invisible. Why? Because we are so concerned with other issues. Plus, republicans are trying to pass laws to demean them even more...and even so far as brain washed a lot of people in the country to think that the poor are poor due to their own laziness. The poor are dehumanized and discarded. not good.

The amount of poor people the Church feeds is absolutely titanic on even just one continent. All three of the biggest charitable organizations (include soup kitchens, hostels with showers, community centres) in my city are Catholic.
