Yes, agreed Christina Therese. I find my meditation hood helpful for prayer, although I've never used it outside (aside from on retreat). I found the reasoning and experience of covering the head at ecumenical services, Muslim, Sikh and Jewish, as helpful aids. But I don't know if that's because it was in a group or not. It might be totally different in church. But, I guess, some people wouldn't care what my reasons would be. On another level I'm thinking -  why should I need a reason.  - maybe my head is just cold or I have bad hair! I doubt anyone would tell a woman to cover their hair these days, even if they think they should. So I'll try and see what people say, or don't, and go from there. But I'll run it past the priest first. If he isn't bothered then I'll see, accessing communion is more important.  Maybe in another 10 or 20 years it won't be a taboo for men to wear what they want on their head, I hope so. :pirate2:
