SimplyMe
Well here goes.. I know you guys can get a bit wild, but I'm really serious about this :) I left the Faith for a while after experience some letdowns in Religious Life (both from others and myself) and I've been trying to fill the void since then, but its impossible.. I want to love my Faith again, and I'm trying to make concrete choices.. This means getting rid of everything that I've accumulated over the months ( frivolous books , and secular music ) But one thing I've been debating is, what to do with my Xbox 360? I feel as if most of the games that are made for it have either and occult, violent, or sacrilegious nature to them. With that being said, wouldn't it be contributing to evil if I sold it to someone else. I wouldn't be playing the games that I find offensive, but I've given someone else the opportunity to. My thought was that maybe I should take it apart and throw it away in the garbage. I'm asking you folks because I don't have any Catholic friends.. Thanks! CatherineM
I'd give it to the nearest children's hospital. They have lots of games for the kids to play that aren't toxic, but they run short on consoles.

I used to struggle with this same question when I was coming back to the Faith. I came to the conclusion that while the CDs, games, and movies I owned were full of filth and had to be destroyed, the counsel itself, was not evil. The only way you will be sinning by being an occasion of someone else's sin, is if you sell the console to someone you know has a problem with using it to watch evil media. Personally, I think Catherinem's solution is better than selling or destroying the console. Edited April 21, 2014 by Credo in Deum
