Dress Shopping For A Wedding

I'm going to a good friend's wedding soon and I need to find a dress. Not to speak of shoes, which is the worst, as I have feet the size of water-skis (same size as my dad's...) and shoes need to be flat for me to walk in them.

So, the options so far. :)

Pale green and cream. (This dress is shorter than I'd like - it hits about three inches above the knee - but I love the detailing on the bodice.)

Shimmery rich blue-green. (Probably my favourite colour.)

Forest green. (I like the length and the colour of this one, but I'm less sure about the material.)

1. Eh.

2. Yes, lovely color.

3. Love the style.

The third one is my favorite. You have more options for shoes, jewelry and whatever covering you may want to have.

A beautiful dress all around.

The third is my overall favourite too - I like that shade of green, I like the style, and I like the longer length. The one trouble is that it is made of chiffon and in my experience that fabric tends to snag and tear very easily, especially if you're as clumsy as I am. I may risk it - it's not like I'll be wearing such a dress every day.

I have skis for feet. I get it from my mom's side. My dad wore 9's. I'm in men's 12-13's. I wear a women's 14AAAAA. That's long and skinny. I used to have my dress shoes made for me by Ferragamo. If I was going to have some made today, I'd get Poppy Barley. They are here in Edmonton, made to order boots and flats. I got an email thing from them with these flats they called Easter eggs, and they would kill with number 2 or 3 dresses.

Catherine, thanks for the tip. I'll have a look. It's so hard to find smart shoes that go up to this size. I normally wear men's trainers as finding anything else is too difficult.

I've ordered the third dress. :) That was more straightforward than I expected - normally I dither for ages over any purchase! Thanks everyone.

I just looked at their website, and the shoes I saw were called robin egg not Easter egg. $188 for made to order up to size 13. I once paid $1500 for a pair of custom shoes. I only wear men's runner now too.

The phorum has really been infected with girly threads lately. We need something manly to balance it out.

As sad as it is, I haven't shaved my legs for over a week, and sadly this shall continue. In the past two weeks our pipes have mysteriously been clogged.
