PhuturePriest
https://twitter.com/World/status/456821926623973376/photo/1 Well, there's a lot of bad, but some good: Catholic Poland is totally kicking butt by being in the blue. However, Italy and Ireland could definitely use a lot of improvement. Russia just needs like twelve Novenas a day said for it.
Benedictus
I'm actually surprised the rate for Ireland isn't lower as they had far more legal safeguards in place. In England around 40% of abortions are for women who have had previous abortions. It's sad. But the Russian levels are shocking. I'd imagine for China has similar levels, if not worse, where forced abortions and sex selective abortions occur regularly. The issue of sex selective abortion is also something creeping into european countries also.
NotreDame
That's a very disturbing map. Sad. Good for Portugal and Poland, at least.
LaPetiteSoeur
When I was living in France, there was some discussion of abortion laws and my roommate (a law student) and I were discussing it. I mentioned to her that a commonly (but incorrect) statistic was that many French women have upwards of 8 abortions in their lifetime. We laughed about it because the statistic is blatantly false, and it's actually a bit more difficult than people think to get abortions in France, especially with some doctors now refusing to preform them
