mortify ii
So the Russian Federation is anti-Semitic? Please. More like this is opposing propaganda to rally support against the Russians.

mortify ii
How is making Jews register to the government "opposing propaganda"? First, we don't know this is in fact true. It sounds more like a fictional piece released by Ukranian sources to foster agitprop.

PhuturePriest
I guess that must make it true I'm not going to debate with someone who didn't even read the article. Why are you so skeptical that it's true?
KnightofChrist
It does seem strange, much of the neo-nazi anti-jew stuff I've heard coming out of Ukraine was all previously centered in western Ukraine, and alined with the new government. Most western media outlets never reported those events.
AugustineA
It seems likely enough considering the rise of neo-nazi groups in Europe. Nevertheless, it being published by an Israeli group specializing in finding these sorts of things certainly doesn't make it any more credible.. Unless the Kremlin explicitly or implicitly supports the release of these pamphlets (which I highly doubt it will), I don't see how it will impact the situation besides increasing the media bluster. That being said, I think all of us can agree that an Jewish person living there should consider leaving ASAP (and any other rational minded human being for that matter). :l Edited April 17, 2014 by AugustineA

FP, I understand your frustration, but sometime mainstream reports may not always be the most accurate/contain bias. When it comes to reading in to international events, there are always bound to be multiple viewpoints and the most popular are not always the most accurate. There is a lot going on in this situation over in Europe and internationally. Not everything is as easily black and white as it might seem. Get a second opinion, and then form your own: http://www.newrepublic.com/article/117415/relax-ukraine-not-ordering-its-jews-register FYI, I've read both the original article's translation, USA todays coverage of the report and a few "independent" news sources who have reported other points of view. I've read both articles and agree with Mortify. Sometimes one does not need to read a full article to understand what its trying to say, especially if they're informed in international politics. Sometimes, the headline and a persons reaction is enough. Edited April 17, 2014 by BigJon16

If someone refuses to read anything about what is posted and forms their opinion off of nothing, then they really have no ground at all. Sorry but you have to have read something about the topic at hand to be taken seriously with your opinion.
