KarenJoanna
If a photographer was asked to take photos of a homosexual wedding or of a civil wedding or basically not a wedding approved by the Church can the photographer accept the job without sinning or will that person sin by cooperating? If that person does sin, they would have to refuse?
CatherineM
I took gay clients for years. Treating them with human dignity isn't participating with their sin. If you were to perform the wedding ceremony, that's different. I worked as a photographer in college. I did drunken frat parties where lots of pre-marital sex was probably happening. I did non-catholic weddings. If you are going to work in the service industry, you are going to be asked to serve people who may be adulterers, pornographers, pedophiles, or even abortionists. It doesn't mean that you participating in their sin, unless you are lending the adulterer your apartment, developing the pornography photos or booking sex tourism trips. If you are uncomfortable around homosexuals, it would probably be better to pursue other careers. There are people losing their bakeries, bed and breakfast's, and other businesses due to law suits for discrimination. Marriage Commissioners here are losing their jobs for refusing to do gay weddings. Just for the record, I would not attend my clients weddings, but I would attend their receptions. I would respectfully explain why. I attended the reception to show them that while I didn't condone the wedding, I wished them the best. Besides, I'm a sucker for wedding cake.
