LOL! We were very starved of bacon. Indeed, of any meat since we kept total abstinence.

 

In '76 there was a heat wave in Europe and we had the biggest peaches ever, and so many we were given permission to eat from the tree whenever we liked. There was nothing so indulgent as that fat ripe heavy peach warm from the sun easing gently into my outstretched hand.

Oh, oh...I think a couple "other people" were told they could eat the fruit from whatever tree they

liked (except one!)...BIG TROUBLE!
