mortify ii
Paul VI didn't say they were saints and didn't canonize them, he only said they were worthy of mention. Luckily, the dogmatic Council of Florence answers this question: Unless they were invincibility ignorant of course
mortify ii
Perhaps my initial impressions were not that far off. Here is a video from Verrechio's blog, Harvesting the Fruits of Vatican II. I saw him on EWTN some time ago, seems he is a getting a bit more extreme though. http://www.harvestingthefruit.com/the-apparent-death-of-the-catholic-church/

Benedictus
Ha! No, generally not. :smile2: I'm not saying it was perfect before, it wasn't. There have been many positive new things; Opus Dei, Verbum Dei, and many lay associations. But I know that every garden has it's weeds and that not all changes are good. Many of the changes made were damaging, and some people hijacked the council documents to acheive their own agenda or did things, maybe even well intentioned of the time, that made people fall away or caused major problems. I guess what I find annoying is when people seem to say this sort of agenda making has been positive, I don't that's keeping things real or acknowledging the pain they've caused people over the last 40 years. The church period in the 70's damaged my family a lot, so I feel fine being a bit grumpy about it. I'm glad my glass maybe half fall, as you say, on this. That way I know it's not yet completely empty :coffee:
